The Messiah Would Be Betrayed By A Friend
God's Promise Fulfillment of God's Promise
"Even my close friend, on whom I relied, who shared my table, has turned against me."  Psalm 41:9

"Then one of the Twelve, the one called Y'hudah from K'riot, went to the head cohanim  and said, "What are you willing to give me if I turn Yeshua over to you?" They counted out thirty silver coins and gave them to Y'hudah.n  From then on he looked for a good opportunity to betray him."  Matthew 26:14 - 16

"Then Y'hudah from K'riot, who was one of the Twelve, went to the head cohanim in order to betray Yeshua to them.  They were pleased to hear this and promised to give him money. And he began looking for a good opportunity to betray Yeshua."  Mark 14:10 - 11

"I'm not talking to all of you -- I know which ones I have chosen. But the words of the Tanakh must be fulfilled that say, `The one eating my bread has turned against me.'  I'm telling you now, before it happens; so that when it does happen, you may believe that I AM [who I say I am]."  John 13:18 - 19

The Messiah Would Be Sold For Thirty Pieces Of Silver
God's Promise Fulfillment of God's Promise
"I said to them, "If it seems good to you, give me my wages; if not, don't." So they weighed out my wages, thirty silver [shekels, that is, twelve ounces]."  Zechariah 11:12

"Then one of the Twelve, the one called Y'hudah from K'riot, went to the head cohanim 15 and said, "What are you willing to give me if I turn Yeshua over to you?" They counted out thirty silver coins and gave them to Y'hudah.n 16 From then on he looked for a good opportunity to betray him."  Matthew 26:14 - 16

"When Y'hudah, who had betrayed him, saw that Yeshua had been condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty silver coins to the head cohanim and elders, saying, "I sinned in betraying an innocent man to death." "What is that to us?" they answered. "That's your problem."  Hurling the pieces of silver into the sanctuary, he left; then he went off and hanged himself.  The head cohanim took the silver coins and said, "It is prohibited to put this into the Temple treasury, because it is blood money."  Matthew 27:3 - 6

The Messiah Would Be Abandoned By His Disciples
God's Promise Fulfillment of God's Promise
"Awake, sword, against my shepherd, against the man who is close to me," says ADONAI-Tzva'ot. "Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered; I will turn my hand against the young ones."  Zechariah 13:7 "After singing the Hallel, they went out to the Mount of Olives.  Yeshua then said to them, "Tonight you will all lose faith in me, as the Tanakh says, `I will strike the shepherd dead, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered Matthew 26:30 - 31

The Returned Money Would Be Used For A Potter's Field
God's Promise Fulfillment of God's Promise
"Concerning that "princely sum" at which they valued me, ADONAI said, "Throw it into the treasury!" So I took the thirty silver [shekels] and threw them into the treasury in the house of ADONAI."  Zechariah 11:13

"Hurling the pieces of silver into the sanctuary, he left; then he went off and hanged himself.  The head cohanim took the silver coins and said, "It is prohibited to put this into the Temple treasury, because it is blood money."  So they decided to use it to buy the potter's field as a cemetery for foreigners."  Matthew 27:5 - 7

The Messiah Would Be Accused By False Witnesses
God's Promise Fulfillment of God's Promise
" Malicious witnesses come forward, asking me things about which I know nothing."  Psalm 35:11

"The head cohanim and the whole Sanhedrin looked for some false evidence against Yeshua, so that they might put him to death.  But they didn't find any, even though many liars came forward to give testimony. At last, however, two people came forward and said,  "This man said, `I can tear down God's Temple and build it again in three days.'"  The cohen hagadol stood up and said, "Have you nothing to say to the accusation these men are making?"  Matthew 26:59 - 62

"The head cohanim and the whole Sanhedrin tried to find evidence against Yeshua, so that they might have him put to death, but they couldn't find any.  For many people gave false evidence against him, but their testimonies didn't agree.  Some stood up and gave this false testimony:  "We heard him say, `I will destroy this Temple made with hands; and in three days I will build another one, not made with hands.'"  Even so, their testimonies didn't agree."  Mark 14:55 - 59

"Pilate then took Yeshua and had him flogged.  The soldiers twisted thorn branches into a crown and placed it on his head, put a purple robe on him,  and went up to him, saying over and over, "Hail, `king of the Jews'!" and hitting him in the face."  John 19:1 - 3

The Messiah Would Be Silent To Accusations
God's Promise Fulfillment of God's Promise
"Those seeking my life lay snares for me, those seeking to harm me speak of disaster and think up deceptions all day long.  But I'm like a deaf man - I don't hear it; and, like a mute, I don't say a word.  Yes, I've become like a man who doesn't hear and in whose mouth are no defenses." Psalm 38:12 - 14

"Though mistreated, he was submissive - he did not open his mouth. Like a lamb led to be slaughtered, like a sheep silent before its shearers, he did not open his mouth."  Isaiah 53:7

"But when he was accused by the head cohanim and elders, he gave no answer.  Then Pilate said to him, "Don't you hear all these charges they are making against you?"  But to the governor's great amazement, he did not say a single word in reply to the accusations."  Matthew 27:12 - 14

"The head cohanim too made accusations against him, and Pilate again inquired of him, "Aren't you going to answer? Look how many charges they are making against you!"  But Yeshua made no further response, to Pilate's amazement."  Mark 15:3 - 5

The Messiah Would Be A Willing Sacrifice For Us
God's Promise Fulfillment of God's Promise
"In fact, it was our diseases he bore, our pains from which he suffered; yet we regarded him as punished, stricken and afflicted by God.  But he was wounded because of our crimes, crushed because of our sins; the disciplining that makes us whole fell on him, and by his bruises we are healed.  We all, like sheep, went astray; we turned, each one, to his own way; yet ADONAI laid on him the guilt of all of us. Or: and in fellowship with him." Isaiah 53:4 - 6

"Therefore I will assign him a share with the great, he will divide the spoil with the mighty, for having exposed himself to death and being counted among the sinners, while actually bearing the sin of many and interceding for the offenders."  Isaiah 53:12

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in that the Messiah died on our behalf while we were still sinners."  Romans 5:8

"For among the first things I passed on to you was what I also received, namely this: the Messiah died for our sins, in accordance with what the Tanakh says;"  1 Corinthians 15:3

"But they went on yelling insistently, demanding that he be executed on the stake; and their shouting prevailed.  Pilate decided to grant their demand;  he released the man who had been thrown in prison for insurrection and murder, the one they had asked for; and Yeshua he surrendered to their will."  Luke 23:23 - 25

Lots Would Be Cast For The Messiah's Garments
God's Promise Fulfillment of God's Promise
"They divide my garments among themselves; for my clothing they throw dice."  Psalm 22:18

"Then they nailed him to the execution-stake; and they divided his clothes among themselves, throwing dice to determine what each man should get."  Mark 15:24

"When the soldiers had nailed Yeshua to the stake, they took his clothes and divided them into four shares, a share for each soldier, with the under-robe left over. Now the under-robe was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom;  so they said to one another, "We shouldn't tear it in pieces; let's draw for it." This happened in order to fulfill the words from the Tanakh, "They divided my clothes among themselves and gambled for my robe." This is why the soldiers did these things."  John 19:23 - 24

4

The Messiah Would Be Scorned And Mocked

"wove thorn-branches into a crown and put it on his head, and put a stick in his right hand. Then they kneeled down in front of him and made fun of him: "Hail to the King of the Jews!"  They spit on him and used the stick to beat him about the head.  When they had finished ridiculing him, they took off the robe, put his own clothes back on him and led him away to be nailed to the execution-stake."  Matthew 27:29 - 31

God's Promise Fulfillment of God's Promise
"For the leader. Set to "Sunrise."A psalm of David: My God! My God! Why have you abandoned me? Eli! L'mah sh'vaktani? (My God! My God! Why have you deserted me?)" Matthew 27:46

4

The Messiah Would Commit His Spirit To God
God's Promise Fulfillment of God's Promise
"Into your hand I commit my spirit; you will redeem me, ADONAI, God of truth."  Psalm 31:5

"For these things happened in order to fulfill this passage of the Tanakh: "Not one of his bones will be broken."  John 19:36

4

The Messiah's Side Would Be Pierced
God's Promise Fulfillment of God's Promise
"When that day comes, I will seek to destroy all nations attacking Yerushalayim; and I will pour out on the house of David and on those living in Yerushalayim a spirit of grace and prayer; and they will look to me, whom they pierced." They will mourn for him as one mourns for an only son; they will be in bitterness on his behalf like the bitterness for a firstborn son." Zechariah 12:9 - 10

"However, one of the soldiers stabbed his side with a spear, and at once blood and water flowed out.  The man who saw it has testified about it, and his testimony is true. And he knows that he tells the truth, so you too can trust.  For these things happened in order to fulfill this passage of the Tanakh: "Not one of his bones will be broken."  And again, another passage says, "They will look at him whom they have pierced."  John 19:34 - 37

4

The Messiah Would Be Buried With The Rich
God's Promise Fulfillment of God's Promise
"He was given a grave among the wicked; in his death he was with a rich man. Although he had done no violence and had said nothing deceptive,."  Isaiah 53:9

"Towards evening, there came a wealthy man from Ramatayim named Yosef, who was himself a talmid of Yeshua.  He approached Pilate and asked for Yeshua's body, and Pilate ordered it to be given to him.  Yosef took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen sheet,  and laid it in his own tomb, which he had recently had cut out of the rock. After rolling a large stone in front of the entrance to the tomb, he went away"  Matthew 27:57 - 60

4

The Messiah Would Be Resurrected From The Grave
God's Promise Fulfillment of God's Promise
"for you will not abandon me to Sh'ol, you will not let your faithful one see the Abyss."  Psalm 16:10

" But God will redeem me from Sh'ol's control, because he will receive me. (Selah)"  Psalm 49:15

"Suddenly Yeshua met them and said, "Shalom!" They came up and took hold of his feet as they fell down in front of him.  Then Yeshua said to them, "Don't be afraid! Go and tell my brothers to go to the Galil, and they will see me there. Matthew 28:9 - 10

"But he said, "Don't be so surprised! You're looking for Yeshua from Natzeret, who was executed on the stake. He has risen, he's not here! Look at the place where they laid him."  Mark 16:6

"They were still talking about it when -- there he was, standing among them!  Startled and terrified, they thought they were seeing a ghost."  Luke 24:36 - 37

"Men of Isra'el! Listen to this! Yeshua from Natzeret was a man demonstrated to you to have been from God by the powerful works, miracles and signs that God performed through him in your presence. You yourselves know this.  This man was arrested in accordance with God's predetermined plan and foreknowledge; and, through the agency of persons not bound by the Torah, you nailed him up on a stake and killed him!  "But God has raised him up and freed him from the suffering of death; it was impossible that death could keep its hold on him.  For David says this about him: 'I saw ADONAI always before me, for he is at my right hand, so that I will not be shaken.  For this reason, my heart was glad; and my tongue rejoiced; and now my body too will live on in the certain hope that you will not abandon me to Sh'ol or let your Holy One see decay."  Acts 2:22 - 27

The Messiah Would Be Resurrected From The Grave After Three Days
God's Promise Fulfillment of God's Promise

"Hizkiyahu said to Yesha'yahu, (Isaiah) "What sign will there be that ADONAI will heal me and that I will be able to go up to the house of ADONAI on the third day?" 2 Kings 20:8

"ADONAI prepared a huge fish to swallow Yonah; and Yonah was in the belly of the fish for three days and three nights."  Jonah 1:17

"Come, let us return to ADONAI; for he has torn, and he will heal us; he has struck, and he will bind our wounds.  After two days, he will revive us; on the third day, he will raise us up; and we will live in his presence.  Let us know, let us strive to know ADONAI. That he will come is as certain as morning; he will come to us like the rain, like the spring rains that water the earth." Hosea 6:1 - 3

At this some of the Torah-teachers said, "Rabbi, we want to see a miraculous sign from you."  He replied, "A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign? No! None will be given to it but the sign of the prophet Yonah.  For just as Yonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the sea-monster, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the depths of the earth.  The people of Ninveh will stand up at the Judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they turned from their sins to God when Yonah preached, but what is here now is greater than Yonah.  The Queen of the South will stand up at the Judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Shlomo, but what is here now is greater than Shlomo."  Matthew 12:38 - 42

The Messiah Would Ascend To Heaven And Sit At The Right Hand Of God
God's Promise Fulfillment of God's Promise
"A psalm of David: ADONAI says to my Lord, "Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool."  Psalm 110:1

"After saying this, he was taken up before their eyes; and a cloud hid him from their sight."  Acts 1:9

"So then, after he had spoken to them, the Lord Yeshua was taken up into heaven and sat at the right hand of God"  Mark 16:19

The evidence is overwhelming.

Yeshua is the Messiah of Israel, promised by God.

If you were to put this case before a trial judge and jury, you have easily satisfied the burden of proof.   There are over 50 promises used in this presentation.  Many offered more than one account, that our Messiah has fulfilled God's promises as revealed to God's prophets centuries before.  All God's Promises revealed to His Prophets are at least 400 years prior to their fulfillment by Jesus.  Some promises go back to the time of Moses,  over 1400 years before their fulfillment.

In addition to the testimonial accounts presented here, you also have eyewitness accounts of His resurrection in that over 500 people witnessed, and therefore could testify to His resurrection:

"And that He was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:  After that He was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some have fallen asleep.  And that He was seen of James and then all the apostles.  And last of all He was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.  For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.  But by the grace of God I am what I am:  And His grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly that they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me."  1 Corinthians 15:6 - 10

Can you truly discredit over 500 witnesses that could testify to seeing our Messiah after His death and burial?

In fact, it wasn't just a passing occurrence.  Jesus spent forty days after His resurrection teaching His disciples about the things pertaining to the Kingdom of God:

"Until the day in which He was taken up, after that He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments unto the apostles whom He had chosen:  To whom also He showed Himself alive after His passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God" Acts 1:2 - 3

Who gave testimony?

Name Profile
Matthew Jewish - a disciple of our Messiah and also a tax collector for the Roman Government. Author of the Gospel of Matthew - (directed towards the Jewish people)
Luke Jewish - a physician and witness.  Worked closely with Paul.  Author or the Gospel of Luke - (directed towards the Greek people) and the Acts of the Apostles - accounts of the church's beginning.
Mark Jewish - A believer in Messiah...not one of the 12 disciples. Traveled with Paul.  Author of the Gospel of Mark - (directed towards the Roman people)
John Jewish - a follower of John the Baptist and later Jesus.  One of our Messiah's closest disciples.  Author of the Gospel of John, Three Epistles and the Revelation of Messiah.
Paul Jewish -  Formerly known as Saul of Tarsus (a Pharisee)  - a staunch detractor to the believers in Messiah.  His mission was to destroy the "new sect of Judaism".  It wasn't until a trip to Damascus that Saul had an encounter with our risen Messiah, whom blinded him.  Once Saul's sight was restored, the truth of Messiah was made known to him.  Saul's transformation, belief and name (now known as Paul) provided additional evidence of Messiah.  Witnessed to both Jew and Gentile of Messiah.

Author of Letters to the churches at Rome, Corinth, Galatia, Ephesus, Philippi, Colosse, Thessalonica.
